Most of you know, Jeremy turned 30 this last month. Here are some of my favorite pictures from his surprise party.
We had some fun decorations and great food! We made Jeremy's favorite New York Cheese cake (thanks Jena)! I loved the candles on it. they said: Oh no, the big 30! And what does every 30 year old man want for his party?....A 'Cars' bounce house! That was a big hit, but so was the pool of ice with all of the drinks in it. Go figure! (Don't worry the bottles are Henry Weinhearts Root Beer, Jeremy's favorite.)
I had marinated two costco sized bags of chicken tenders, and I had a package of 30 jumbo hot dogs. At the end of the night there were about 5 pieces of chicken left. We probably had about 50 people stop in. Some came and stayed and some just dropped in! It was great!
I love the last picture, that is our house after the party was over! What a day!
Wow! Jeremy your really 30 now! I hope that you had a great day! I want you to know that I love you so much! I am grateful everyday that I am married to my best friend. I am so glad that we are more in love now than ever! It just keeps getting better! You are such a great Father to our children, what a great example!
I guess that we learn from our children what we sound like. Carter and I were at Sam's Club and we heard the forklift beeping. He got very excited and said "Mommy, what's that?" I asked what he thought it was and he replied "I hear the tractor!" He then started pointing and telling me to go the other way to see the tractor. I said we might see it and then ignored him as I tried to hurry along. He kept carrying on, and I kept shopping. Then I heard "Mommy, look at my face. Look at my face." I smiled and looked at him. he looked me in the eye and said "I hear the tractor." I said yes, I hear it too. That made him happy to know that he had my full attention and that I acknowledged him.
That was much better than the time I told him to look at my face to try to explain something to him. He turned to me and said "look at my face, we don't spit, we don't hit!" So he hears but he does not listen!
To any wondering what has happened to the Brummett's....we are still here. Just busy like always.
Jeremy:
Going to school and getting straight A's on his Masters program!
Working hard all day and then coming home to be a busy Dad and Husband. Carter still waits to hear the garage door open and then runs to meet Daddy!
Also going to the gym every day at lunch and doing so awesome!
Valerie:
Just finished reading the last book in the twilight series, so I can now function normally. I read 650 pages in 2 days! Don't worry hunny I will clean the house again some day!
Trying to keep up with Carter and Paige! I can't believe that Paige is now 5 months old. I feel like it was just the other day that we were in Fallon.
I ran a 5 K for our Stake Pioneer days! Yup I was very slow but I kept going. I blame that I was pushing a double stroller! I have never been much of a runner (OK, I have always hated it.) I have been working on it and I really enjoy it now. BTW a 5K is 3.1 miles.
I found this great sugar cookie recipe and it was titled the Lazy Mom's Sugar cookie. I decided to change the name. What 'Lazy' Mom makes cookies with her kids at all? Especially ones for the kids to cut out and frost. But they are very easy and quick.
Carter and I did this for our craft of the week. As you can see he loved it and yes I took a picture of the floor after wards. only one frosted cookie on the floor, not to bad for a two year old. (yes, they do always fall frosting side down!)
Jeremy and I looked into getting theater furniture for our loft. If is SO expensive. So we decided that for now we would get a few more Love Sac's and have that be our "theater chairs." I looked on Craig's list and found one listed for $150. We arranged to pick it up but Jeremy had scheduled a business meeting for that night. He assured me that it would fit in the back of the Jeep and I didn't need to borrow a truck. So off I went to the opposite side of the valley!
